ROLE

CelebrateMercy is seeking a Development Manager to support and strengthen the organization’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role bridges strategy and execution—helping implement fundraising initiatives, manage donor relationships, and support the growth of CelebrateMercy’s development programs.

This position is ideal for someone who has experience in fundraising or donor relations and is ready to take on greater ownership, manage key initiatives, and contribute to strategy while remaining closely involved in execution.

This position is remote for daily work, but requires travel for fundraising events, donor meetings, and staff retreats.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Execution & Strategy Support

  • Support the Development Director in implementing fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals 

  • Help grow and strengthen revenue streams including monthly donors, campaigns, and major gifts 

  • Take ownership of specific fundraising initiatives and campaigns from planning through execution 

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with donors across various giving levels 

  • Support identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective donors 

  • Assist in managing major donor relationships and follow-ups 

Campaigns & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate and execute fundraising campaigns in collaboration with Marketing and Programs teams 

  • Ensure smooth implementation of donor engagement initiatives and events 

  • Contribute ideas to improve donor acquisition and retention 

Data, Systems & Reporting

  • Oversee donor data accuracy and usage within CRM systems 

  • Analyze donor data and campaign performance to inform decisions 

  • Prepare regular fundraising reports and insights for leadership

Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Identify and implement improvements to fundraising systems and workflows 

  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members or specialists as needed 

  • Help ensure accountability and follow-through across development initiatives 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development 

  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and donor stewardship 

  • Experience managing projects or initiatives independently 

  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into action 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Willingness to travel several times per year 

  • A sincere interest in the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a desire to contribute to work that helps others know, love, and follow him 

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, with a range of $60k–$80k per year.

  • Bonuses may be awarded based on individual performance and organizational results.
